The African CPD Accreditation Network (ACAN) is a multi-country accreditation and digital verification organization that promotes quality, transparency and continuous professional development across Africa. We currently operate in Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Namibia and Rwanda.

ACAN serves four groups: individual professionals tracking their CPD, training providers seeking accreditation, employers managing workforce compliance, and regulators or professional bodies verifying credentials.

No. ACAN works across professions and sectors — from human resources and public relations to engineering and finance — in partnership with national qualifications authorities and professional bodies in each member country.

Training providers submit an application with evidence of their curriculum, facilitators and quality assurance processes. ACAN reviews the submission against our accreditation standards before issuing a formal accreditation status.

Most provider applications are reviewed within 4–6 weeks, depending on the completeness of the submitted evidence and the complexity of the courses being accredited.

Yes. Provider and course accreditation is reviewed periodically to ensure continued compliance with ACAN's quality and content standards.

Yes, providers operating in or serving any of ACAN's five member countries can apply, provided their programmes meet local regulatory and quality requirements.

The CPD Wallet is a secure digital record where professionals can log, store and track their continuing professional development credits and certificates in one place.

Sign in to your ACAN account, open your CPD Wallet and upload your certificate along with the course or activity details. Certificates from accredited providers are verified automatically.

Yes. You can download a summary of your CPD Wallet at any time as a shareable, verifiable record for employers or regulators.

Individual professionals can maintain a CPD Wallet free of charge. Employers using bulk tracking and reporting features are on a separate corporate plan — see Corporate CPD Solutions for details.

Use the Verify a Credential tool available from the site header or Quick Links panel. Enter the certificate number or scan its QR code to instantly confirm authenticity.

Search the provider directory from the Accreditation section to confirm whether a training provider currently holds active ACAN accreditation.

A failed verification means the record does not match ACAN's database. Contact support@acan.africa with the certificate details so our team can investigate.

Yes, verification is free and available to anyone — employers, regulators or members of the public — who needs to confirm a credential's authenticity.

Select "Join ACAN" from the site header and choose the account type that applies to you — professional, provider or employer — to begin registration.

Individual professional accounts are free. Providers and corporate employers have tiered plans based on the number of courses accredited or staff tracked — contact our team for current pricing.

We accept major debit and credit cards, as well as mobile money and bank transfer options within each of our member countries.

Yes. You can close your account from your profile settings at any time; your verified CPD history remains available for export beforehand.
